There are a number of different types of bipolar
Bipolar 1 involves the most severe mood swings from depression to mania. The periods of mania are often longer and with a greater risk of psychotic experiences.
Bipolar 2 is considered less severe as it involves hypermania (a milder form of mania) and depression. The mood swings are usually for a shorter period of time with no psychotic experiences.
Involves milder mood changes though the person’s mood swings are still more extreme than those experienced by most people.
Bipolar with mixed episodes
This is when someone feels depressed and manic at the same time. For example they may feel energetic and like they can do anything, yet angry and bad tempered at the same time.
